For the past 10 years, Beyond Borders has been active in creating a platform for literature, culture and diplomacy in Scotland. Previous years have included everything from a prize-winning exhibition curated by the New York Times, fascinating panel discussions with co-founder of the Northern Irish Women’s Coalition, Monica McWilliams; critically acclaimed author William Dalrymple and UN special representative Michael Keating, as well as the impassioned interview with former Catalan President Carles Puigdemont, to Paul Conroy’s haunting account of Marie Colvin’s last mission into Syria.
Events have been hosted by London School of Economics, Summerhall, the Edinburgh International Book Festival, and at the tranquil setting of Traquair House, home to the annual Beyond Borders International Festival. Scroll through our events and Media Archive to learn more, or visit our YouTube Channel to watch highlights and videos from the Beyond Borders International Festival.
